End Tinnitus Now

Ending tinnitus now, and we mean in the next 30 days, is a difficult thing.  However, listed below are several things you can try at home and start eliminating some of the causes.  Below are just a few of the possible causes of your tinnitus.  Go through the list and see if any of these suggestions end your tinnitus. 

Tinnitus is just a symptom of the real cause.  Your body is telling you something is wrong. Eliminating the cause will most often, end the tinnitus.  

Wax in your ear - cleaning the ear canal- remove the wax that has been pushed against the ear drum or tympanic membrane.  Try an over the counter ear wax remover, but follow the instructions carefully. 

Stop using caffeine - all types of caffeine.  Caffeine is found in coffee, soft drinks, tea, chocolate, ice cream, and many candies.  Many over the counter drugs are another high caffeine substance you may be taking.  Here are just a few: Anacin, Dextrin, Excedrin, Midol Menstral Complete, Vivarin to just name a few.  Read your over the counter drugs to see what is really in them.

Prescription drugs - many prescription drugs  have side effects that contribute to your tinnitus. Ask your doctor if your prescription drugs have know tinnitus side effects and see if there is a substitute.  

Stop or limit your alcohol intake.  Studies have found alcohol elevates your tinnitus symptoms.  Stopping or reducing your alcohol intake may end your tinnitus. 

Lack of exercise - how much exercise do you get?  Something as simple as starting to walk everyday can reduce or end tinnitus. 

Diet - Sodium or salt is a big contributor to high blood pressure.  Red meat and processed foods are also a contributor to higher blood pressure.  Stop and examine your diet.  Starting eating more fruits and vegetables along with your new exercise program.  Only you can control this. 

Relaxation - take time out to slow down and smell the roses.  Stress is a well known cause of tinnitus.   

Loud noise - contributes to tinnitus.  Long term exposure can have a un reversible effect.  If you work in a noisy environment start using ear protection.  You should not be exposed to noise levels above 85 dB.  For example 85 dB is equal to average traffic noise.  Lawn mowers and chain saws are about 105dB.   

Colds, ear and sinus infections - are causes of tinnitus.  These should be temporary causes.  If you have any of these and the tinnitus has not ended, see your doctor. 

Stop  Smoking -  many people find that once they stop smoking, their tinnitus symptoms disappear. Quitting  smoking  provides  other health benefits. 

These are just some of the simple things you can do to end your tinnitus now.  Obviously there are more causes of tinnitus. Many causes will in fact require a medical procedure to end tinnitus.   

We strongly suggest you educate yourself on all the known causes and cures for tinnitus.  Don't just leave it to your doctor because tinnitus is misdiagnosed often.
